think, think, think...

found this writing in my old junk folder... (i dont think it was ever published anywhere, and im not sure when i wrote it) The hunt for bin laden... The biggest change you see in a country that is ruled by democrats opposed to republicans is... Fear does rule the day anymore. I am watching “The Hunt for Bin Laden” -- and the picture is clear, the fear is gone, and this guy is just a flawed dude with big ideas and a fat bank account. Instead of a set, he was bangin’ hard on the muslim religion. G.W. Bush made him a martyr and played into the game Bin Laden wanted to play...but religious ideology blinded by all parties involved, and we all suffered as a consequence. Under Obama as president, his pragmatic views save us from ourselves – and while religion and faith are  for sure  a part of who president obama is...they do not seem to have a veto power over his principles. Osama Bin Laden was not the boogie man...he was not much more than an idealistic gang banger ...

now that the election is nearing its final phase, i guess i am finally starting to get in the mood to be active again in political conversations. i have sort of stepped away from talking about politics for awhile, mostly because it seems the conversations have become stale, and the election season seems to have been going on and dragging on forever. the republican primary is what i think really just turned me off after awhile. it was like watching paint dry with how boring these candidates were, and all the while, you just knew not a single one of them (including romney) doest actually have a legitimate chance of unseating obama as president. its like a big drawn out process, and you basically already know the end of the story. i had said months before romney was chosen that he would be the guy, and it wasnt because of some great insight -- it was simply because i personally feel like republicans are predictable enough to pick the guy that most looked the part, and romney was the guy...
