So I have been doing a lot of reading lately, and generally when I find new words I like to save them in my phones memos. The following is a list of words I have so far and their definitions (or my generalized description).



Abhorrence - hate coupled with disgust.



Odious - detestable, terrible, abominable



Usurper - one who wrongfully or illegally seizes and hold the place of another.



Hagiography - biogrophy of saints or idolizing biogrophy. Example: looking back on someone like elvis as a god or chosen one.



Recalcitrant - obstinately defiant of authority or restraint



Vacuity - anbsence of thought or character. No personality.



Voluble - 1. easily rolling or turning 2. Characterized by ready or rapid speech.



Incongruous - lacking in harmony or appropriatness.



Pugnacious - always ready for a fight



Innocuous - harmless



Effete - no longer fertile or soft from living the good life.



Misanthropic - a person that hates or distrusts humankind.



Ostensible - open for display or viewing



Alacrity - promtness in response



Petulant - unreasonably irritable or ill tempered.



Deference - respect or esteem due to a superior or elder. "In deference to your moms wishes, I have to say no."



Obfuscation - to make obscure or unclear.



Dysotopia - the opposite of utopia.



Ubiqitious - being present everywhere at once. Never heard of the guy, but now he is all over tv.



Extemporaneous - composed, performed, or uttered on the spur of the moment. "Witty".

so in the news there are reports of iran bombing villages in northern iraq. what happens if iran where to send a military into iraq? its not like iraq has a real army, and the one they do have is barely holding itself together. iraqs military force is the united states. who has the responsibility of defending iraq? with hundreds of billions of our tax money invested in the war there is no way the united states wont flex its muscle. if iran goes into iraq we will no longer be in a war of choice. its a war of necessity if iran is purposely blowing things up near american "peace keeping" soldiers. maybe thats the whole point of this war. i think the united states is picking a fight. war! war! war!

for profit.

these conservatives, republicans, and "others" (greed mongers) that encourage privatizing our "public" education and instead boost "for profit" charter school trip me out. why do they like to compare what we should be doing to places like "south korea" and "china", and suggest that somehow they have it right on education, and that we should follow the lead. they actually make a case that a class of 100 kids is better than a class of 30, just as long as we pay the teachers more money and invest in a little more training. since when does the unites states strive to be like south korea, or china? no offense to south korea, but for the benefit of making something more profitable, these guys will kick any sense of american pride out the window. whatever happened to patriotism? when did money pass pride as something to admire? they back up their ideas with skewed facts, polls, surveys, etc., and in a lot of instances, just plain lies. the rea...

this blog sort of jumps around, but i like most of its content...

i think as the presidential race unfolds its becoming clear that the race divide in this country is still very present. there is also a great divide in this country when it comes to who has money and who does not. the rich people seem to think all is well with our economy and we are still a strong nation. maybe for those with a couple million in the bank, it probably would be hard to understand the basic needs of the everyday american. i feel that john mccain is a guy that represents so many things that are wrong with our country right now. he is rich, old, son of a military big wig, a former military big wig himself, and white. we is the sort of guy that owns 7 homes and has $100 million in the bank, but wants to run a country where only about 2% of the population can even begin to relate to his way of living. and also a country that is feeling very pinched in the wallet, due in large part to his party’s hot streak of bad economic policies. what does john mccain really have to offer u...
