How much have you accomplished since January 20th, 2009??
People are picking apart the little things about Obama. They are criticizing the spending (gotta spend money to make money) and picking on the very few bush rules that he is hanging onto (for now). But they are missing the bigger picture of just how much he “is” doing. From what I can tell, he has hit the ground running with a plan in his head about where he wants the country to be, and he is doing what he can to make it happen. Of course he isn’t always making all the correct choices with everything, but who really gets anything perfect on the first try? The point is that he is “doing” positive things. He is trying to break the country out of acting with fear on the mind and trying to instill a little bit of optimism. There is no such thing as success without perseverance, optimism, and the ability to DO the things you say.

So far Obama has addressed Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay, Mexico, the economy, the financial system, and has a bold plan to reform healthcare. He has appointed people to his cabinet that are also making things happen. Just a few examples being: Eric holder pulling back the wasteful practice of the government doing raids on medical marijuana shop. Tim Giethner is working a plan for finance reform and ways to stimulate the economy. He is getting a bad rap, but the guy was handed a shit burger and so far has been almost the only guy taking bites. Ken Salazar has repealed rules that will hold off oil companies from trashing pristine natural land. Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano are working with Obama for a plan on what to do with Mexico's drug wars. All of this and his administration has only been in power for how long? Just over 2 months! What did any of the past 5 presidents accomplished in their first 2 months of power?
So we can put every little thing under a microscope for criticism, but people need to broaden their perspective and realize these changes are big picture changes, not the patchwork sort of changes this country has learned to accept as the norm.
