cleaning house....

so im cleaning up my computer and figuring out what all this junk is. in the process i have come across quite a few unfinished blogs. after re-reading this one and editing it a little i have decided to post it up. i wrote this a few months back, during the elections. im not sure the date though.

its seems the staunch republicans like to act this part of "tough americans". these guys are the sort of people that own guns and hunt! they drive big cars with "support the troops" stickers and play real sports, like muddin'! they discipline their kids with a belt, just like their daddy did! they have strong faith in god and can pull themselves up by their bootstraps when times are tough.

so how is it they are the ones that are so easily manipulated? they have faith in god thats unwavering, but cant really make a solid point as to why. they feel god gives them an excuse to hate and judge anyone that’s different. they can accept civilian deaths in iraq if it means we are safer here in america, but will not support stem cell research and compare abortion to the holocaust. they live in the sticks to get in touch with their inner cowboy, even though they grew up the city.

to me, this is living in fear. maybe not shaking in your boots fear, but definitely a fear of losing the things they cherish. they own guns for "protection". protection from whom? do they just assume the world is so dangerous and full of heathens that they need to carry a gun to feel safe? if the country is in that sort of shape, where does this strong patriotism come from and what is it they are proud of? is america just an "idea" for them? just some concept of how things should be? are they holding out and hoping that that america will finally show up after years of this shitty era? who knows! i sort of went off topic here...

so im talking about sheep! all that rumbling above amounts to me thinking most hardcore republicans are simply sheep that will follow an order. the republican party is definitely in sync, but in sync with all the wrong ideas.

conservative mommy and daddy hate machines, rush limbaugh and anne couture speak, and thall shall listen! Hate is spewed to the masses, and the masses follow with hardly a question.

when george bush says "we are winning the war!" they believe it. when presented with facts, they dont buy it. "liberal pussies make that stuff up!" they say.

strange times we are living, bros.

for profit.

these conservatives, republicans, and "others" (greed mongers) that encourage privatizing our "public" education and instead boost "for profit" charter school trip me out. why do they like to compare what we should be doing to places like "south korea" and "china", and suggest that somehow they have it right on education, and that we should follow the lead. they actually make a case that a class of 100 kids is better than a class of 30, just as long as we pay the teachers more money and invest in a little more training. since when does the unites states strive to be like south korea, or china? no offense to south korea, but for the benefit of making something more profitable, these guys will kick any sense of american pride out the window. whatever happened to patriotism? when did money pass pride as something to admire? they back up their ideas with skewed facts, polls, surveys, etc., and in a lot of instances, just plain lies. the rea...

this blog sort of jumps around, but i like most of its content...

i think as the presidential race unfolds its becoming clear that the race divide in this country is still very present. there is also a great divide in this country when it comes to who has money and who does not. the rich people seem to think all is well with our economy and we are still a strong nation. maybe for those with a couple million in the bank, it probably would be hard to understand the basic needs of the everyday american. i feel that john mccain is a guy that represents so many things that are wrong with our country right now. he is rich, old, son of a military big wig, a former military big wig himself, and white. we is the sort of guy that owns 7 homes and has $100 million in the bank, but wants to run a country where only about 2% of the population can even begin to relate to his way of living. and also a country that is feeling very pinched in the wallet, due in large part to his party’s hot streak of bad economic policies. what does john mccain really have to offer u...
