crazy religion
ok, before i get going here...i dont mean to offend anyone. this is strictly my opinion on this topic and in no way do i think my opinion means more than "yours".
soo, radical religion is so crazy. americans only think in terms of "their" god. so many christians and catholics take the tradition and faith over fact and science. its so strange that in a society thats advancing so fast, we have religion to prevent us from really pushing our limits. our president is a religious man, and he invites that religion into his politics. because g.w. bush's faith says abortion is wrong, millions of people that are not of that faith will ultimately suffer. he is supposed to be a president "of the people". that is why religion and politics are supposed to be separate.
okay, so im not even finished here. we should talk about...life. somewhere it always seems to get lost in the news, but literally, 100's of people are getting killed in iraq. everyday. the united states is destroying a country. i know suddam hussein was a bad guy. but he had his country under control, and at least that tension seemed to keep that part of the world in order (for the most part). now we have gone into a region and completely took away any power iraq did have, and now its basically the united states as irans new neighbor. what if iran invaded mexico and set up a major base of operation? i bet the united states would be pissed.
that said, isnt it weird that the president is so steadfast on backing an obvious failed situation? does anyone really believe this iraq government is ever going to have any power over a chaotic country? george bush cant be that optimistic or blind. why the hell does he want to stay in iraq? hmm, maybe so under iraqs new "no choice but to do whatever america wants" leadership, they have to let the american military stay with a heavy presence, whether they like it or not.
sort of like america testing iran and asking: "so what are you gonna do about it?"
hmmm...i have lots more on this topic, but i think ill get back to it at a later date. maybe with the time, a re-evaluation could change my view about it all. probably not though.
